(Below) Christa Banks and Josh McCarroll inspect one pole's Crown Jewels. Kids love insulators. Christa says, "Sometimes it is the adventure of it all. Climbing a pole. Hiking up a mountain. Or maybe just finding an old ox shoe when you're walking along the Applegate branch of the old Oregon Trail looking for threadless glass."

(Below) Diamonds are this girl's best friend. Diamond pony insulators, that is. Mindy Michener says, "My first insulator is still my favorite." Here she shows it off, a CD 102 Diamond in olive green. Mindy explains that her Dad bought a collection and was unpacking the insulators. "I dutifully oohed and aahed at each nice piece he dug out of the boxes. But then he lifted up to the light a beautiful, little olive green pony. "What's that?" I gasped with delight. "That's really pretty!" After that, I was hooked. My dad gave me that first beautiful pony that sparked inspiration in my heart. H gave me a few other ponies, all of which have capture my mind". Gary Michener is Mindy's Dad.
